All UnitedHealthcare branded accident insurance plans come with Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage or Accidental Loss of Life, Limb or Sight coverage included in the plan.2
Accident insurance pays cash benefits for eligible expenses resulting from accidental injuries. This can help you prepare for those unexpected life events that come your way. Even if your health insurance covers 100% of your medical costs from the accident, you still receive the benefits from your accident insurance plan for eligible costs.
Benefits for most eligible expenses are available as soon as your policy starts. In select states, some accident insurance plans include critical illness or hospital stay for sickness benefits. Those benefits have a 30-day waiting period in most states where they are available.
